Northeast Georgia Locally Grown: Weblog Entry
Locavores, Northeast Georgia Locally Grown is open for orders!
WEATHER NOTE: Thanks for your understanding this week, as farmers experience an extended period of cold night time temperatures. Produce farmers are predicting what will be available for harvest 4-5 days in advance. This might result in veggies being removed from your order by the grower. They try to remove the items by 11am on Wednesdays if they need, and you are always able to see if any items are removed from your account page and clicking your orders for this week.

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This farmers market allows you to preorder directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m. in Clayton, Clarkesville, or Gainesville.
If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION after you finish the checkout process, your order may NOT be complete. Head back to the market page, and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.
Once you place an order, be on the lookout for the order reminder email on Wednesday with further pickup and payment notes.
Thanks for supporting local farmers!

News from Linda at Dogwood Valley Greenhouse:
I’m currently taking orders for Christmas wreaths and kissing balls. If you’ve never had one of these fresh-from-the-farm Christmas decorations, why don’t you treat yourself this year? Place your order and pay now, and specify when you would like to receive your special decoration, anytime after December 1. I suggest using your decoration outdoors for maximum lifespan. If you want to place it indoors, you might consider requesting delivery in mid-December for freshness at holiday time. Order soon; supplies are limited.
